The group process is so successful because people feel a connection with each other, recognise that they are not alone in what they are experiencing and are then at ease to openly share in the group.  Social isolation is greatly reduced. New friendships and support structures are created and this alongside the life skills they now have, propel them towards achieving great change in their lives.
